More about Denim:

Widely regarded as one of SA’s Top Live Acts, DENIM have a string of hits to their name, and performances at some of the most prestigious events in South Africa. The group has received numerous accolades for both their music and their performance and passion.

The group’s early beginnings started unofficially in 1992 when four of the original members sang together in the school choir at Mapetla High School in Soweto . They formed a group called Four Man Act, and steadily built an identity for themselves through stunning live performances and hits like “Karabo”.

In late 2000 they signed to a professional management company in South Africa and shortly thereafter were invited to perform for the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund. Four Man Act finally got the attention of the mainstream market, which lead to a phenomenal year for the group and a nomination in the R&B category at the Metro FM Awards.

In 2002, Four Man Act had a line up and name change and Denim was formed. They released their first single “Let’s Go Dancing ” (Kool & The Gang) to radio which elevated the band to another kevel.

Over the next few months they recorded their first album and did two trips to Europe where they performed over fourteen shows in some of the hottest clubs in Zurich, various festivals and international conferences as well as conducted numerous public appearances and media interviews. During their last trip they shot the music video for their first single “Let’s Go Dancing take” (Kool & The Gang), which received extensive coverage on South African television.
